SEO – Rank Faster On Google
SEO nets a huge return of investment (ROI). It is one of the highest in online marketing industry. Once you rank on page 1, you can get targeted traffic for years.
The problem? It takes time. It could take up to several months to rank in top 10 Google results for competitive keywords.
You can rank 3X faster if you implement my proven SEO tactics.
Best part? All tactics are ethical and 100% safe.
Did I get you attention? Let’s proceed!
Table of Contents
Create Superb Content
Only the best content ranks in top 10 Google results. There are exceptions when a particular website has very high domain authority.
Your goal is to create content which is at least 3X better than the average in your industry. If you have the resources, go further and forge 10x content.
Your content should:
Popular content solves people’s problems or answers a question by providing comprehensive, accurate, unique information and resources.
Think about it, how often you share or link to an article which doesn’t provide a real solution and doesn’t offer actionable advice?
Never right 🙂
Be more detailed than the competition
90%+ of the content online is mediocre or just rubbish. Go an extra mile and make it more detailed.
Make every word count. People are busy. They want the meat.
Use Headings, bullets, and other formatting options to make your content more readable.
People want to find what they are looking for fast or they will hit the X button if it takes too long to find what they are looking for.
Content ranking #1 had a bulleted list 78% of the time.
Forget big walls of text. No more than 2 sentences at a time.
I even keep longer sentences which take to 2-4 rows separate.
Easy to read
Make it simple to read. The average Flesch Readability score of content ranking #1 was 76.5 (easily understood by 13-15-years old students.)
Keep reader’s longer on your content with attention grabbing phrases:
- Here’s the deal:
- Your [insert anything here] should:
- You [insert anything here] should:
- Wait! Let me explain:
- You are probably wondering:
- This is crazy:
- What’s the bottom line?
- Want to know the best part?
This way you keep people interested.
Use a lot of media
Include graphics, animations or video. Interactive content converts 2x better than static content.
Media will also boost your dwell time. It keeps visitors longer which is a strong SEO signal for Google and will help you to rank higher in search results.
Include an image when appropriate every 75-100 words. The average article ranking #1 has 9 images.
You also could include videos like I did for this article – The Best 13 YouTube Intro Makers.
Use Title Modifiers
Modifiers are words that you add to your title tag.
They will help you to rank quickly for long tail keywords.
Modifiers will also help you to increase your CTR rate in Google search which helps for faster and higher rankings.
For starters, the best modifier you can use is the current year. For example: The Influencer Marketing Guide 2017.
Here are some more ideas”:
- How to…
Target The Right keywords/topics
Keyword research is crucial for your SEO success. You need to identify your the main topics and keywords in your industry. Otherwise, you are shooting in the darks.
Start for free using Google Keyword Planner.
Some keywords are harder to rank.
There is almost no way for a new website with let’s say domain authority 30 to rank in top 10 for super competitive keywords in 2-3 months.
Unless there are a lot of resources to invest in link building, content marketing or influencer marketing.
You can use tools such as Ahrefs Keywords Explorer or Kwfinder to help you to determine keyword difficulty.
For faster SEO rankings you need to pick keywords which match your website authority.
There is nothing wrong to target competitive keywords even when your website is young. It just will take months sometimes a year to reach top 10 rankings.
If you have no idea where to start with keyword difficulty both tools mention above provide great insights.
New websites which are launched in 3-9 months can target keyword difficulty up to 30-40 max if they want to rank faster.
A quick example. My website domain authority is 45 at the time I am writing this.
A few days ago I created an article about YouTube Intro Makers. In just a few days it is ranking on page 3 on Google.
My blog domain authority is high enough and matches this keyword difficulty well.
Optimize On-page SEO
- SEO-friendly URLs – Your URL should be your target keyword.
- Optimize your titles for SEO – Your article title should grab people’s attention. It is the main thing to make them click.
- Optimize your descriptions – When you search on Google you scan the results and pick a result by title and description. Your description should be complementary to your title.
Guest blogging is time-consuming. You need to find and pick great blogs, to think about a topic, create/order the content and keep in touch with the blogger/editor at the same time.
But it’s worth it. You know why?
Because most people are lazy and don’t bother. And it could be super effective. For best results, you want a link in the body of the article on a blog which points to your page you want to rank.
You should target blogs with traffic (Alexa.com Rank of at least 1 million ) and a domain authority of 30 and above.
Guest Blogging Speed Hack
Guest blogging is still one of the most efficient and safe ways to build powerful links. But there is one big problem.
You get a link on a brand new page which has no established authority, links, shares, and traffic. It will need time to pick up.
Here’s the deal:
This is simple and extremely effective SEO technique:
- You find a guest blogging target.
- Find an old article with established page authority/links/social shares which is related to your topic.
- Ask the blogger if he is willing to link to you there instead of in the new guest article you will provide.
This way you will get powerful links which will boost your organic rankings faster.
Not every blog owner will agree but here is what to do to convince them:
- Create a superb article and offer them to publish it under their name. (Ghostwriting)
- Help them pointing out any problems with their website like broken links, missing images etc
- Offer free advice and help.
- Mention influential people in your industry in your content and let them know. Don’t just mention their names but their work – content, achievements, products, services.
- Ask them for opinion about your content
- Build long term connections with influential people in your industry. They will pay off in the long run. You can provide feedback about their content, products, services over email or social media.
How to find them:
- Check top 30 Google results for your keyword
- Check the backlinks of your competitors
- Use Buzzsumo or EpicBeat
- Use Twitter search
- Use influencer marketing platforms
Repurpose your top content
Squeeze the most of your content. Your article can be transformed into a video you can put on YouTube.
You can also create an infographic or slide presentation out of it.
When you repurpose your content to a new format, you can reach a new audience and get more traffic.
In addition, create a shorter version of your content and republish it on Medium, Quora, top industry Forums, Linkedin and appropriate Linkedin groups, Facebook groups, Reddit,
Targeted Facebook Ads
Facebook can deliver the lowest cost per click and send targeted traffic at the same time.
There are even more benefits. Google likes to rank pages which are already famous and has its ways to detect that you get traffic from referrals, social or direct traffic.
For example Google Analytics.
When this traffic is targeted – visitors stay on the page longer, browse other pages, etc. this send Google a strong signal that the particular page is good and deserve higher rankings.
Here is a quick example how I boosted my rankings quickly with Facebook Ads.
I started a small campaign (~$80) to promote my WordPress SEO guide last October.
What comes next may shock you. My rankings skyrocket.
Here is a more recent example:
I created a huge SEO tools guide a few months back but never promoted it much. I started another small Facebook Ads campaign (~$50) a few days ago.
3 days later my article is sitting on #18.
Here you can see the keyword difficulty according to Ahrefs Keyword Explorer.
This tactic has one disadvantage – it costs money.
How to get lower CPC on Facebook?
I include many countries and also targeted people who are interested in related interests to my main topic.
The result – average CPC of $0.01- 0.03.
With these tips, you can rank up to 3 times faster in top 10 Google results. Use my tactics and let me know about your experience.
